ʿArafat and Jabal al-Rahmah

The plain where pilgrims stand on the 9th of Dhu al-Hijjah from midday until sunset. Jabal al-Rahmah is the small hill at its centre.

Significance

Standing at ʿArafah is the heart of Hajj. The Prophet ﷺ gave his Farewell Sermon here, and the verse "Today I have perfected your religion for you" was revealed on this day.
