Hijr Ismaʿil (al-Hatim)

The low semi-circular wall on the north-west side of the Kaʿbah. Tawaf is performed around the outside of it.

Significance

Part of the area it encloses belongs to the Kaʿbah itself, which Quraysh could not rebuild in full for lack of funds.
