Biography
Abu Dharr heard of the Prophet ﷺ and came to Makkah in secret to meet him, then declared his Islam aloud at the Kaʿbah and was beaten for it. He returned to call his tribe Ghifar to Islam.
He was known for his asceticism and truthfulness, and died at al-Rabadhah in 32 AH.
Virtues
Ibn ʿAbbas narrated the story of how Abu Dharr came to Makkah, met the Prophet ﷺ and accepted Islam.
Sahih al-Bukhari 3861The Prophet ﷺ said that no one more truthful than Abu Dharr was ever shaded by the sky or carried by the earth.
