Biography
Salman left Zoroastrianism in Persia to seek the truth, travelling between Christian teachers until one told him of a prophet to appear in Arabia. He was enslaved on the way and reached Madinah, where he met the Prophet ﷺ and accepted Islam.
He advised digging the trench at al-Khandaq. He later governed al-Madaʾin and lived humbly, dying around 35 AH.
Virtues
Placing his hand on Salman, the Prophet ﷺ said that even if faith were at the Pleiades, men from his people would reach it.
