Biography
ʿAmmar saw his parents Yasir and Sumayyah tortured and killed for their faith, and was himself tortured until forced to say words against Islam; the Quran excused one compelled while his heart rests in faith (16:106).
In Madinah he worked hard building the Prophet’s ﷺ mosque, carrying two bricks at a time. He fought in the battles of the Prophet ﷺ and died at Siffin in 37 AH.
