Biography
Sumayyah, her husband Yasir and their son ʿAmmar were among the first to accept Islam and were tortured severely by Abu Jahl and others. The Prophet ﷺ passed by them and told them to be patient, for their promised place was Paradise.
Sumayyah was killed by Abu Jahl for refusing to leave Islam, becoming the first martyr in Islam.
