Biography
Sawdah was an early Muslim who emigrated to Abyssinia with her first husband. After Khadijah’s death the Prophet ﷺ married her, and she cared for his household and daughters in Makkah.
She was known for generosity and good humour. In later life she gave her day with the Prophet ﷺ to ʿAʾishah, wishing to remain his wife. She died in Madinah, most likely in 54 AH.
