Biography
ʿAʾishah, the daughter of Abu Bakr, was married to the Prophet ﷺ and was among the dearest of people to him. The Prophet ﷺ passed away in her room, with his head resting on her.
She was one of the greatest scholars of the Companions: she narrated over two thousand hadith, and senior Companions came to her with questions of law, Quran and the Prophet’s ﷺ private life. Her innocence was declared by the Quran (24:11–26). She taught for decades after the Prophet ﷺ and died in Madinah in 58 AH.
Virtues
“The superiority of ʿAʾishah over other women is like the superiority of tharid over other food.”
