Biography
Talhah was one of the eight earliest men to accept Islam and was persecuted for it. He was famed for his generosity, which earned him the names Talhah al-Khayr and Talhah al-Jud.
At Uhud, when the Muslims scattered, he shielded the Prophet ﷺ with his own body and took arrows meant for him; his hand remained paralysed afterwards. He died in 36 AH.
Virtues
A narrator saw Talhah’s paralysed hand, with which he had protected the Prophet ﷺ on the day of Uhud.
