Biography
Zaynab was the Prophet’s ﷺ cousin. Her marriage to Zayd ibn Harithah ended in divorce, and Allah revealed her marriage to the Prophet ﷺ in 33:37, which abolished the pre-Islamic rule treating adopted sons like biological sons.
She was known for worship and generous charity from the work of her own hands. She was the first of the Mothers of the Believers to die after the Prophet ﷺ, in 20 AH.
Virtues
She would say to the other wives that their families married them off, while Allah married her to the Prophet ﷺ from above the seven heavens.
