Lut, the nephew of Ibrahim, was sent to a people who committed an indecency no one before them had done and who robbed travellers. He warned them, but they threatened to expel him and his family.
Angels came to him in the form of men, and his people rushed to them. The angels told Lut to leave by night with his family, except his wife, who would stay behind. At dawn the cities were overturned and rained upon with stones of baked clay.
