Allah gave Sulayman a kingdom like no other: he understood the speech of birds and ants, the wind was subjected to him, and the jinn worked for him (27:16–19; 34:12–13).
The hoopoe brought him news of the Queen of Sabaʾ and her people who worshipped the sun. Sulayman wrote to her, and in the end she submitted with him to Allah, Lord of the worlds (27:20–44). Even at his death, leaning on his staff, the jinn did not realise until a creature ate through the staff (34:14).
