Biography
Asmaʾ, the elder sister of ʿAʾishah, brought food to the Prophet ﷺ and her father while they hid in the Cave of Thawr during the Hijrah, braving Quraysh.
She married al-Zubayr and was mother of ʿAbdullah ibn al-Zubayr. She lived to about a hundred years and died in Makkah in 73 AH.
Virtues
She tore her waist-belt in two to tie up the provisions for the Hijrah, earning the name “she of the two belts”.
