Biography
Hafsah, the daughter of ʿUmar, was widowed after her husband Khunays died of wounds from Uhud or Badr, and the Prophet ﷺ married her. She was devoted to fasting and night prayer, and could read and write.
The sheets of the Quran compiled under Abu Bakr were kept with her, and ʿUthman borrowed them to produce the standard copies. She died in Madinah around 45 AH.

The compiled sheets of the Quran were entrusted to her, and from them ʿUthman made the standard copies.
