Biography
Khabbab was a blacksmith in Makkah and one of the earliest Muslims. He was tortured with burning coals by his former mistress’s people, yet held firm.
He taught the Quran to others, including in the house where ʿUmar’s sister read it. He died in Kufah around 37 AH.
Virtues
When he complained of persecution, the Prophet ﷺ told him that believers before had been combed with iron combs yet held firm, and that Allah would complete this religion.
